Files for Mounting or Framing

When preparing files where the final treatment includes mounting or framing, bleed and borders need to be considered.

Bleed refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of sheet before trimming. In other words, the bleed is the area to be trimmed off. It ensures that no unprinted edges occur in the final print. Bleeds are generally 1/8” from where the cut is to be made. This is essential if you are mounting or framing your print.
