How Big Can I Print

A common question is 'I've taken this amazing picture with my phone, how big can I print it?"

This is a great question but with the wide variety of phones on the market the answer is not so simple. How big a print you can successfully make is based on the number of megapixels the camera captures.

Given the popularity of the iPhone we can generally assume the image is 12 megapixels. If you are printing the full image this should create a good print up to 16"x20" inches. If you want to zoom in and print only a portion of the image then the print size becomes smaller, so instead of 16"x20" you may only be able to get a good print up to 8"x10" or maybe 4"x6" depending on how much of the full frame image you are cropping away.
